Structure Their Imaginaton
One of the key benefits of Writing Club is structuring a student's imagination. Many learners enjoy the experience of free writing, but need support in structuring their fantastic ideas.
This is where Writing Club excels: it shows students how to take those ideas and structure them in flowing sentence and paragraphs, with accurate punctuation.

The mix of 'live' and recorded sessions provides you with a creative writing tutor to suit your needs. Choose from joining us for the shared live lesson or use the recorded version at a time to suit your child's schedule that week. Having both options makes life that little bit easier, particularly during busy weeks.
You can choose whether your child completes the follow up written task that week, and if you wish to submit it. All submitted writing is marked with a mini-video feedback.

How It Works
Writing Club Live Lessons

Submitting Their Writing

Each week, a 20-minute lesson guides writers through a specific text type. We explore the full range of text types, to mirror those learnt in the classroom: fiction; non-fiction; poetry; even covering written comprehension answers.
The students are fully supported through each session with visual stimuli, vocabulary and spellings lists as well as scaffolding resources.
The second half of each lesson allows time for valuable discussions and the sharing of their fantastic writing ideas.
Your child is invited to submit their writing each week. However, if they miss a week or their work is submitted the following next week, this is never a problem: Writing Club is designed to be flexible.
Equally, if your child just wants to use the learning and would rather not submit each week, that's fine too!
Personalised marking and feedback
Writing Club Recorded Lessons

For every writing submissive made, your child will receive speedy and personalised feedback. Feedback is friendly, supportive and easy to understand, whilst guiding them gently to their next steps. Marking is in the form of short videos - particularly effective in engaging young learners.
Can't make the live lesson that week? Fear not: the recorded lesson allows students to catch up on our writing theme of the week.
Tight for time after school? Some students opt for the recorded lesson each week, so that they can fit in their writing club lesson at a time to suit them. You still receive the same excellent standard of teaching and marking whether learning live or recorded.
Dyslexia-friendly Approach
Writing Club is fully accessible for dyslexics. In fact, it encourages dyslexic learners ot take part. Every lesson is scaffolded for build confidence and self esteem in writing.
Font types are always dyslexia-friendly, visual stimuli supports processing skills, and the weekly vocab and success criteria lists help to aid spelling and sentence structure.
Punctuation has a weekly focus, making this - often stressful aspect of writing - manageable.
The 20-minute lessons also suit a dyslexia learner, ensuring each lesson is timely and not overwhelming.
Even the marking is suited to dyslexic thinking - it's via video rather than paper-based!
